Issoudun is an old, medieval city, that highlights its natural and historic heritage in a contemporary spirit. Today this little town (14.000 inhabitants) host compagnies such as Vuitton and Sicma-aeroseat, and offer a hight quality of life.

Issoudun is a well-known meeting place for gliding enthusiasts. Its geographical location and climate make it the perfect spot for this air sport, and a popular departure place for “leapfrogging” jaunts above the Châteaux of the Loire.
Every summer, the Issoudun-Fay Aeroclub organises a national, European or international level championship.
Aeroplane and glider pilots can also take their test at the club, which also organises courses to train young people (from the age of 16).

Located in the center of France, in the heart of Berry, around 10 kilometers from Issoudun, the field of La Prée protect an old cistercian abbey founded by Saint Bernard in 1141 and monastic residence until the Revolution.
The field, along a river, counts about forty hectars of meadows and woods. The buildings as such are located in a ground of five hectars closed by walls. They are formed of an abbey house, the old mill of the abbey wich are today called hotels, of annexes and outbuildings.
Property of the association "Les petits frères des pauvres", La Prée is member of the European Charter of Abbey and cistercians area (www.cister.eu).
Artists residence under the aegis of Pour Que l'Esprit Vive association, it is supported by l'Académie des beaux-Arts of Paris and receives internationals artists of all disciplines to residence periods of one or two years. Chamber-music concerts are given all year long, with in particular the "Rencontres Musicales autour de la Prée" during the week-end of "Ascension", in May or June.
Since 2007, "Pour Que l'Esprit Vive" intervene at the hospital of Issoudun in offering at patients concerts and artisticts events.
Artificial lake with a quiet and shaded campsite, water sports centre and many activities (canoeing, kayaking, pedalos, windsurfing, mountain biking, tennis, etc.) as well as numerous picnic areas.

You can fish for trout every Saturday afternoon between 1.30 and 6 p.m., at the Carroir du Gué, in Chârost, where Christian Dyckerhoff has created an angling route. The Carroir du Gué is a peaceful and verdant spot where you can go for little rambles. Access for people of reduced mobility. Equipment and bait can be provided on the spot. New in 2010: Black bass in No Kill fishing.
